The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was introduced in Malaysia in July, with the 2023 World Car of the Year available in two variants: an Ioniq 6 Max RWD for RM289,888 and an Ioniq 6 Max AWD for RM319,888 on-the-road without insurance.
The single-motor Max RWD shown in the photos has a rear-axle-mounted motor with 225 hp (228 PS, or 168 kW) and 350 Nm of torque, while the dual-motor Max AWD has a motor on each axle with 321 hp (325 PS, or 239 kW) and 605 Nm of twist.

The Ioniq 6 Max RWD has a 0-100 km/h time of 7.4 seconds, while the more powerful AWD version has a sprint time of 5.1 seconds, with both types having an identical 185 km/h top speed.
Both the Max RWD and Max AWD models are equipped with a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, which provides a WLTP-cycle operational range of 614 km for the Max RWD and 519 km for the Max AWD on a single charge.
The Ioniq 6's 800-volt architecture allows for DC charging at up to 350 kW, which the company claims can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The 10-80% SoC fill takes 73 minutes at 50 kW DC, while AC charging at 11 kW takes 7.1 hours to charge the battery from 0-100%.

The Lite RWD (RM219,888) and Plus RWD (RM249,888) are less expensive choices. The upgrades, which were introduced to the local lineup earlier this month, result in a four-variant Ioniq 6 range in the country. The Lite and Plus both have a rear-axle-mounted engine with 149 horsepower (151 PS, or 111 kW) and 350 Nm of torque.
The pair is powered by a 53 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery that gives up to 429 km of range (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The charging time at 350 kW DC is identical to the Max variations, and the lower capacity of the unit allows for a faster fill from 10% to 80% SoC at 50 kW DC in 58 minutes, whereas 0% to 100% takes 5.5 hours with an 11 kW AC charger.

Dual-LED headlamps with intelligent front-lighting and Parametric Pixel LED rear combination tail lamps are standard across the whole Ioniq 6 lineup. The Lite RWD, Plus RWD, and Max RWD all have 18-inch Aero wheels with 225/55 profile tyres, while the Max AWD has 20-inch Performance wheels with 245/40 tyres.

Leather interior upholstery (except for the Lite RWD, which has cloth seats), two fluidly connected 12.3-inch screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connection, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, and a motorized tailgate are among the highlights. All models, beginning with the Plus RWD, include a Bose eight-speaker sound system.
The Ioniq series is available in five exterior colors: Abyss Black Pearl, Nocturne Grey Matte, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Dive Blue Solid, and Gravity Gold Matte.
